Qualifications

An Upward Bound applicant must:

• Be a student in the 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade who attends a target Polk County secondary school
• Meet income guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Education
• Be a potential “first-generation college student” (neither parent has earned a four-year college degree)
• Demonstrate academic potential and motivation to pursue post-secondary education
